I have a 2013 series $5 bill that I got back from change at a store andtand left side serial number is blue, the seal on left side is also green, also from Lincoln's left eye all the way to the end of left side of bill looks light in color with no color tone besides the blue green and everything else looks normal colors. Now this is where it gets interesting to me, now when I flip the bill around and look at it all the colors look perfectly fine no fading nothing out of the normal. Even on front eagle is normal like any other $5 bill. And I can't find anything on it. Can anyone help please.

@Eric Page this post is 6 years old.Start a new post under "Paper Money" WITH photos or you won't get much but a few negative comments.
Here is my spiel for new comers posting photos.
You should always post FULL IMAGE photos (after you upload your photo, two buttons appear: Thumbnail and Full Image, click Full Image and your photo appears full size on your post and is easily enlarged by clicking on it. Always show both the obverse and reverse, even if your question is just about one side. Members can often give more valuable information having both sides to evaluate. Crop out superfluous background so just the coin shows, and post photos with correct orientation so members don't have to turn their computer in some awkward fashion to view it properly. Add close ups of areas you have questions about and make your questions as definitive as possible so we know what you are asking for. And try to have the best lighting possible to show the most favorable photo of the coin. Hope this helps in the future. Good luck.

I suppose it's possible that part of a print run encountered low ink (or some other factor) that had these come out with a blueish color instead of the normal green. I don't know the reason, but if I had to bet on it I would say exposure to a chemical post-production is the reason.

Let's suppose however that the note was printed with discoloration, how would one prove it? You would probably have to find other notes from the same sheet (or adjacent sheets). Even if you found similar color from same sheet that still wouldn't prove it was printed that way cause the entire batch could have been exposed to chemical post-production. I don't think a grading company will be able to determine how it happened. Who knows.

I have a 2013 $20 bill same blue serial # stamp everything else is normal there is no leak through on other side and all security features check out so does the marker test. I'd say the one comment about loe ink or error would be more accurate some of the other comments I have no words for.

I'd say the one comment about low ink / error would be more accurate? Why would someone alter a common modern $20 bill? Only difference between mine and the orginal poster is the eagle on left is more fine and his looks blurry etc

I have a 2017 $20 only the seal and the serial# above it are blue. I can’t find anything saying if this is an error or not but I also haven’t seen that any silver certificates for $20’s were made in 2017 either. So it has to be right?

I have a $20 2017 with a blue seal and the serial # is also blue. Everything else is normal. I can’t find anything that says they had silver certificates this year so I’m guessing it’s an error does anyone know?

Don’t know how to post picture though. Everything on bill is normal except for the silver “blue” seal and serial #
