I have used the "dry" kind of white-out on 2X2s before. It's called "Bic Wite Out brand EZ correct" You slide it across the 2X2 and it leaves a ribbon of permanent white out that adheres very well. You can even go over twice with no problem if you can still see the pen marks underneath it. And you can write on it. I will use it for little mistakes, but mostly I just use another 2X2.
It seems odd to try to keep this thread on-topic... All the same, the MSDS for the brand mlov43 mentions contains Acrylic Acid and Ethylene Glycol. Neither bother me in the presence of coins, as long as the White-Out is allowed to dry fully before going back into permanent storage. Silver and Acrylic Acid apparently get along well enough to be used together in certain antibacterial applications.
Despite the fact that you edited my comment, I'd have to decline. She has at least one very bad bridge, maybe two! Chris
I can't stop liking posts here. Thanks for answers everyone, and thanks in advance if you will answer.
Strangely enough, I do not have a favorite t-shirt... If it were a shirt I was just given, I would suck as much mustard out of the shirt as possible, then I would pour some water on the shirt and try to squeeze it out. Then I'd hand it over to my wife when we get home and let her do her magic. At the end of the day, that smudge on the 2x2 flip is hardly worth testing something like white out on when you can just get another one and replace it.
OK...all silliness aside, White-Out is a fine white powder dispersed in a plastic resin. As such, you should endeavor to NOT get it on your coins. On the 2x2, how would it ever get to the coin to bother it. Now if some did get on a coin, acetone will not remove it, xylene will remove it.
But... it's not the "wet" kind of white out. It's dry. This is the stuff I'm talkin' about: And, yes, it is odd to try to keep threads on topic at CT sometimes. Considering how much of a free-for-all it can be around here at times, I figure I have the right to just "go crazy" and post an on-topic post.
