Correct. It is caused when the die needs to be maintained during its lifetime. Overpolishing eventually removes some of the features of the die.
Yes it is. The designers initials are still there but one look at them tells you it’s a floating roof.
Heres what I'm going through. Most of these have been rolled and in this box since the early 80's . I've added a few rolls over the years. Now I'm going to go through them. I know i pulled all the wheats out when i rolled them. So far I have pulled 4 S's 1 wheat, and 2 69 D's with the floating roof and the grease filled die 199?. Lots of Coppers. I'll Keep them. The Krusty's ones will go to the bank. Some of the things i'm looking for... 1998 99 2000 wide AM 1992 Closed AM weigh all 1983 for copper weigh all 1982 Small D for copper 1984 Double ear So far the oldest I Found is a 1944 and the newest is 2008. The 2008's where added to the box around 2009 cause that when I rolled a few before we moved. Jeff Hall
I've thought about that. I'm kinda afraid to ask one of the tellers for some rolls of... Can anyone give me a hint about the best way to go about getting some rolls to look through. I guess the best way to start is to get just a few rolls to find out if that's something I want to do. I was going through my coins and found that I have a 1986 S Memorial Cent in Proof shape. I looked in my Red Book and found that there was only 3,010,497 minted. It only lists a price for the coin as a Proof. I have no idea where it came from. Do you think it would be worth while to have it graded. I don't have a camera that would take a picture. I think I'll scan it and see how that would look.
It’s very heavy not sure right now how many rolls are left in it. When I’m done I’ll probably roll them back up and put what’s left back in the ammo box. I’m keeping all the coppers out and roll them together (82 and down). Not really sure what else to look for. Still a lot of bright and shiny 80’s and 90’s pennies in the rolls.
I get mine usually $25.00 boxes of pennies from the bank where we have an account. I take the ones that I do not want back to them wrapped and in the box and exchange it for another box. I also have a friend who works at other bank and I get more boxes there. Try calling your bank and asking them.
