What is this cent? The reverse is normal.

    It looks like it's heavily corroded, regardless of anything else that might have been wrong with it. Can you post a photo of the reverse?

    I can’t tell from your photos. Can you please post better ones and also the reverse. It could be a mint error or PMD.

    Great chance at a capped die, but we need those photos of the Reverse, and a better photo of the entire obverse.

    The coloring looks similar to as if the coin was on a really hot surface for awhile disturbing the details.

    In my opinion, it's a capped die. Coingrats! (Keep in mind, this is over the internet, it is much harder to tell, so please do not take my word with 100% certainty, I personally think that it is)

    It doesn’t look like it was struck through a capped die. Looks more like a damaged obverse to me.

    This is not an error. The obverse was pummeled into mush outside the Mint.
