    What is the value of a 1954, 100 Franc Coin and a 1957 1 G from Netherlands?

Which are the most sought after 1 cent and quarter dollar coins from the US? Is it true that a 1965 Quarter Dollar is rare and expensive?

    Do let me know..

    Thanks

Hi the value of any coin depends on the condition it is in, it is easier to determin this if there is a picture or a scan to work off :smile
this is a bit out of date LOL
    1954 100f goes from $0.75 to $7 1954b 100f goes from $0.75 to $5 & the 1g runs at roughly the same as the 1954 100f

The 1965 quarter is NOT rare or valuable. As to what is most sought after, it depends how far back you want to go. 20th century for the Quarter maybe the 1901s Barber or the 1916 Standing Liberty. For the cents maybe the 1909s Indian Head cent or the 1909s V.D.B Wheat cent or the 1955 double die Wheat cent. I think the best way for you to find out is to get hold of a catalogue and start reading. ;)

The 1965 $1/4 is only worth its face value - U.S. 25 Cents if it is in any grade below Uncirculated. In other words,it is a current currency coin.

The 100 francs piece should be worth 1 to 2 euro, depending on the condition. And the 1 gulden coins from that year are silver pieces, worth 2 to 4 euro. The latter would refer to unc. coins ...

Christian, that French 100 Francs that he is referring to is from when the French Franc was hit hard by inflation. That is why Charles de Gaulle's government introduced the New Franc (also called the 'Heavy Franc') in 1960.

The New Franc (nouveau franc) was introduced on 1-Jan-1959. So yes, this 1954 Cu-Ni 100 francs piece is indeed an "old" franc. A 100 fr coin from the Fifth Republic would typically be a silver coin and cost roughly €20 ...

How are you folks able to give values for the 100 Franc coin when you don't even know where it is from?

I can't tell you much about non U.S. coinage but the key words being "sought after" for U.S. coins I would think the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent and 1877 Indian Cent are the ones that most collectors need to fill a set.

As quarters go the 1916, 1901-S and 1913-S are probably the most "sought after" once again to fill sets that an "average" collector might pursue. The 1932-D and S mints would also rank high.

Hopefully you haven't purchased a 1965 quarter for more than face value. There were nearly TWO BILLION minted.

When somebody talks about "dollars" without any further information, I would usually* assume s/he refers to USD. Same thing with "francs" and FRF, especially when we're talking about a 100 francs coin. :)

Christian, the Nouveax Franc was actually introduced in 1960,as the 1959 1 Franc is an aluminium coin.

Agreed, the 1965 is NOT rare. However, there are known rare 1965 SILVER quarters that are very valuable.
The 1965 clads were struck at the same time as the 1964 silver quarters.
These transitional errors are very rare.

Ah, right. I mixed the government's decision and the actual introduction up.
