I think you did fine. I see some going for 10-20 on eBay. Having a date visible helps these get to the higher dollar range but your example is still visually appealing.
Yes.. I've paid $5.00 - $10.00 for Off Center Copper plated Cents. They are more common than Copper Cents. That's a nice one!
Yes, you did just fine. I’ve seen some more costly and I’ve seen some a bit less. For the price you paid, I’d have bought it. Obviously it’s zinc but there is no date.
The bonus are the finger prints all over the blank part. You should seal it in argon, or some other gas, to prevent it from disappearing as so much zinc is showing, the zinc rot will soon get it.
That is not true. I have dozens of similar off center copper plated zinc cents with exposed zinc that I have kept in various places for over a decade and they look exactly the same way they did since the time I acquired them. I have never needed to use argon gas. A 2x2 flip would be proper storage for it. But if you get the planchet wet such as storing in a pot with soil and a plant that needs watering then the exposed zinc would erode.
Good to know. Of course I don't know how the seller has stored it but I will keep an eye on it. Still yet to receive.
