I have been wanting a Dansco 7070 for a few years now. I've reached out directly to Dansco multiple times since 2020. They had no intentions of manufacturing the 7070 anytime in the then near future. I put my name on the backorder waiting list at Wizard a long time ago. Well finally, yesterday I received an email saying they were back in limited stock. Shipping would be on a first come first serve basis. Woo Hoo!!!! Finally, I'll be getting my 7070. Anybody who has been waiting for this coveted album can now order it. FYI, if you order it through Amazon, Wizard is the 3rd party that ships it. The pricing is better on Amazon. I know price shouldn't be the deciding factor, especially with this album, because now I'll be going into serious debt trying to fill those circular voids.

Nice!!! Wizard provided my 7070 as well lol (and even then 5-6 years ago they were not the easiest album to come by.
I'm surprised you wouldn't rather choose to do a registry type set. This allows you to buy slabs and put them in boxes or slab albums, and put your own photographs of the set online so you can actually view the coins better, at any time. IMO, depending on what you're going to do, many of the coins are simply too valuable to be loose in an album and most people discover this as the set progresses. If you must use an album, Intercept Shield makes an album superior to the 7070 that also protects them from toning.
For the sake of anyone looking for albums you might try these two options. I visit both stores each year and they do have Dansco and Whitman albums. North Country Coins & Stamps in Plymouth, N.H. and Maine Gold & Silver In Maine.
I have both an album (circulated 7070) and and mint set 7070 slabbed/competitive set at NGC https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/363344/ more then a few lesser slabs have been cracked for the album and many of the lower grade slabbed coins presently shown in the slabbed 7070 will eventually be upgraded and cracked for that album
It was Wizard's price through Amazon. And it was lower buying from Wizard through Amazon than it was buying direct from Wizard.
Building a 7070 album was really fun. Actually did it twice. I made a few mistakes the first time. Some of the coins had no business being in an album because of their value and needed a holder that was safe. I made some new rules for the second set. No red or RB copper. I watched too many turn brown in Dansco's. No proofs at all. I watched too many gain spots. No UNC coins that had much value. No gold page. Too many dollars.

Just build the set you want. All high grade or low grade. Build an XF set. It’s your collection and there are some expensive coins in it so the higher the grade, the more costly it will be to build. You want it for enjoyment, not h out w much is it worth. Have fun with it.
Very interesting observation. I received the 7070 in today's USPS delivery. All good to go. However, I went online to possibly order one as a gift for a buddy of mine. The price on the Wizard website went up by $1.00, and the price on Amazon went up $25.00. When I received the email from Wizard at precisely 12:00 am May 20th (that is the exact timestamp), I immediately checked their website. I happened to be online at the moment the email was received. I then checked the Amazon pricing where I learned that Wizard was the 3rd party seller. It was $3 less on Amazon. I placed the order right away. Upon checking the Amazon price today, wanting to buy another one as a gift, is when I see the price went up $25. I'm guessing Wizard sent out their email notification and neglected to change old pricing on the Amazon site. They honored my price, and I have it in hand already. So kudos to them for standing behind the posted price.
Funny you said this. For my Japanese coins I started with a Dansco (actually a tough album to find) and when I started upping my game I started a 'slabbed set' too, which is now a custom set over at NGC so I have both. And many in the album were cracked lesser coins.
I have an empty 7070, dating from the '70s. No hole for small dollars, so pre-SBA. The Ike is under "Silver Dollar" section and is dated 1971, so probably issued pre '75 (no bicentennial holes either). Everything else is dated "1965-". Dang this thing is about 50 years old! It's empty because I don't use it because I define my US Type set diffetently than Dansco. Instead I use airtites and store them in the airtite tubes.
