Well, I am still snowed in, so to speak, with huge snow drifts still stopping me from driving in and out, so my "go to" friend brought my mail up to me yesterday, and it is the first time I have gotten to see the damaged package, and find out why it was returned to me, instead of being sent to the address on the package.

You can see the address was intact.

Seems the equipment got a hold of it and wouldn't turn loose, but managed to spread the contents all over the machinery, so the package is empty. I haven't opened it yet, as I will be taking it to my local post master to file a claim and to also put in a search of lost and found. The coins were in a separate bubble padded package, so the entire thing had to have been ripped out. My note to Rob is still inside, but I know by feel, that the coins are gone.

You can see my note inside where the package was eviscerated.

Dog gone it. I was hoping the coins were still there and just the address had been obliterated, but that is not the case. I'm still holding out that the coins might be found and finally delivered to my friend.

Probably. Looks like it spent time under the conveyor belt as well. I worked in a Warehouse. Weird stuff goes on in those places. ;):wacky:

I never knew there was a Mail Recovery Center. Maybe they found the coins?

Looks like this happened on a piece of machinery in a mail processing center. If the contents are not there they may be in Atlanta Georgia. That’s where the Mail Recovery Center is. File a claim as soon as you can as time is important.

Ha!!!! Good luck with Atlanta!! I purchased a large number of publications from a forum member and only received half a box with gummy tape, and a note from the sender thar the rest were retained in Atlanta. None of my emails, or direct phone calls "We answer all calls , if busy call again" and never got the material. I couldn't blame the seller as the seller sent it as was advertised. Since it was during the early stages of covid and rotten politics , I gave it to the spirits. Jim

I sure hope by some slim chance that they are found. Sad that happened.

Sorry to see this. I try and mail any coins of a reasonable value in a priority small flat rate box inside a priority padded bubble mailer. Still not a guarantee from theft but the same cost as your postage if you don’t add signature confirmation and less likely to get chewed up by machinery.

Well, darn. I do thank you for the thought, and I like how you addressed the package. :)

Speaking of addresses, I edited yours out of the first picture.

Hey, maybe they'll find some coins and send them to me, but send me the wrong ones by mistake... ;)

If they try to send you only one of those coins, decline it. Tell them it's all or nothing ;)

Thanks Rob. I didn't even think of it when I posted the photo. I was just glad the sticker covered your address so you don't get a bunch of hate mail. LOL
