    I thought this series was supposed to end this year, does anyone know how long it is going to continue?

    Section 5112 of title 31, United States Code was amended to create the Native American $1 Coin...

    (see https://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/nativeamerican/Legislation.pdf)

    That amendment states...

    (i) shall be issued, to the maximum extent practicable, in the chronological order in which the Native Americans lived or the events occurred, until the termination of the coin program described in subsection (n);

    Subsection (n) of Section 5112 of Title 31 is the section that deals with the Presidential $1 Coins...

    (see https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/31/5112)

    The last part of subsection (n) states...

    (9)Reversion to preceding design.—
    Upon the termination of the issuance of coins under this subsection [i.e. the presidential coins], the design of all $1 coins shall revert to the so-called “Sacagawea-design” $1 coins.
    Bold is my comment.

    Not sure if that means the Native American obverse/reverses will disappear and the original Sac obverse/reverse (i.e. 2000 thru 2008) will reappear.

    Trying to find the section that deals with the original Sacagawea $1 coins. But I am getting thirsty and lazy.

    This year's reverse gets us through WWII then. Any major native American stories since then?

    Kind of jumped the gun on that one...........so much Native American history before the code talkers. I suspect the mint wanted to stimulate their medal program. Shoot, ya can't keep up with all of the code talker medals they's been issuing.

    I would not be against and would be in favor of switching to all famous chiefs of all known tribes.

    Jim Thope has been a suggested subject. They may have jumped ahead to the code talkers because if you read the law as it appears to be written there could be a good argument for the NA series to end this year and revert back to the Sac dollar. Subsection (i) does seem to call for an end to the NA dollar when the President dollar series ends.
