Looks like it was placed on the bottom of a table leg and dragged around on a concrete floor.......it would be a fun find if it were caught in the wild but to pay that kind of money (let's see what the bidiots run it up to) for something so maliciously damaged is sinful.

I was rather thinking along the same lines. Why would you want to break a piece like that out of an authenticated holder? Whose to say now that it wasn’t a Beijing minted piece that wasn’t drug on the concrete?
That falls into the “stuff happens” category. It’s bad, but it wasn’t intentional. Cleaned, however, something else. I’ve seen 1955 doubled die cents that were messed up by that.
