I haven't been this excited about a current mint product in quite some time

Today I received a product subscription email from the US Mint for the 2023 American Innovation 2023 $1 Coin - Indiana. I think this design is really cool. Perhaps my enthusiasm is fueled by my automotive back ground. I can't wait to take delivery. Like the post title states, I haven't been this happy with a new coin design in years...

Nice, but another design that the dies will be pushed and lots of die cracks and chips will be coming soon.

The mint is vague about identifying the cars but I suspect it's based on the "$20 Grand" Deusenberg from the 1933 World's Fair. Deusenbergs were built in Indianapolis.

Not a car guy, so is the coin design a mash up or am I not finding the right model? The "20 Grand" doesn't have the extra headlights. The 1933 Model J has the 4 headlights but not the external exhaust. Where's the iconic hood ornament?

My family roots are in Indiana... Indianapolis, Hagerstown, Cambridge City, and probably other cities. I had an uncle that lived in Indianapolis. When I was 13 in 1960, he took me to the Indy 500. It was nice but the sound was deafening. He also took me a 3 put golf course. I won't do that again, either. I stayed with his family during the summer, while my father was serving in Korea 60-61.
