Thank you guys! When I bought it, I did have a slight hope that it might be the much scarcer O-111, but it does not appear to be. I still am very happy with the coin, it's a keeper.
I saw this coin auction. I felt like it sold for its absolute max value. I would have wanted to get this for about 50 less. I also couldn't tell from the lighting and angle what was going on in the reverse above the eagles right wing.
I certainly agree that I probably over payed a bit. It was a 24 hr. auction and like I said I thought maybe a cherry pick. But it looks nice in hand and decent 1807 halves are well worth the money IMHO
Oh yea they're definitely worth it and don't come up much No I don't think you over paid. It went for about what its worth. To bid on it anymore would definitely been over paying. I'm really surprised it didn't go higher. Had it been a 7 day auction it probably would have. I have one of these in this variety and about the same look and grade even. I gave 179 about 2 years ago. That was a buy it now though. But I always watch in case for some reason they go stupid low i have no problem picking up another one. By the time I saw this one I think the bid was about 147. I just watched to see where it would go beyond that.
