    So I have a few coins that I am having trouble with fully Identifying. I can for the most part tell if they are Yen, Rand, Ruble, etc. But I am having difficulty trying to find a year on some and a correct value on most. I'm not trying to find value for selling purposes because I like they way they look and want to keep them. Just like to have as much info as I can on then. If allowed could someone point me to a website, book or anything to help me??? I added a few examples.
    Thank you 2023-5-3 23-34-37.jpg 2023-5-3 23-36-19.jpg 2023-5-3 23-36-29.jpg 2023-5-3 23-36-57.jpg 2023-5-3 23-37-22.jpg 2023-5-3 23-37-42.jpg 2023-5-3 23-37-49.jpg 2023-5-3 23-34-37.jpg 2023-5-3 23-36-19.jpg 2023-5-3 23-36-29.jpg 2023-5-3 23-36-57.jpg 2023-5-3 23-37-22.jpg 2023-5-3 23-37-42.jpg 2023-5-3 23-37-49.jpg 2023-5-3 23-34-10.jpg

    All of them are Japanese
    Use numista.com and dateconverter.net to try and decipher them ;)

    @Sschlee …go to google…type the following:

    “deciphering the characters on Japanese coins”. Hit enter. Read and study to your hearts’ contentment…imo…Spark.

    (BTW, this is how I learned)

    Welcome to CT @Sschlee. Might I suggest you download a free app to your smart phone, if you have one. Coinoscope. Simply take a photo of your unknown coin and it will search through thousands of coins and try to identify it for you. Great tool if you are going through a few pounds of world coins. Good luck

    From top (all Japanese):
    500 Yen Showa 60 = 1985
    100 Yen Showa 62 = 1987
    100 Yen Heisei 3 = 1992
    5 Yen Showa 50 = 1975
    None look particularly old or collectible.
    500 and 100 yen have decent face value if you ever want to spend them.
