How long ago did you find that half dollar.

A local teller showed me an 1836 bust half that a convenience store guy had turned in. Wouldn't fit in a roll or the tray because it was larger in diameter than contemporary halves. :) (No, she wouldn't sell it to me.)

Except that we all eventually die (and/or get burgled), and there are always heirs/thieves who don't know better and spend or deposit all the coins.

As long as coins circulate, there'll always be at least a trickle of silver back into circulation. I expect the end of cash itself before all the silver is removed from circulation.

You are right. One time a month ago I was in my bank getting halves and I was talking to a couple that also seaches. They said they found some coins from the 1960s and looked them up online and said they were not silver. I smiled to myself and thought I would eventually find that silver. You might be wondering right now and the answer is of course I would not tell them. More silver for me.:)

Today I was looking through cents and heard a weird clink in the coins. I look through it again and found what looks like a normal zincoln with a weird clink. I will try to post a video.

Here is a picture. It has a rotated die. In the picture with two coins the coin on the right is a normal coin when flipped. The coin on the left is not.

Just looks nasty. Weigh it. Also, that rotation is within limits I believe.

Been searching some cents and nickels found 6 common wheats, 1 silver nickel, 10 from 40's and 50's. Also found a 1983 cent with die clash on the reverse between column 4 and 5 so the die was misaligned as well. It was pretty obvious if I saw it LOL. Have about 30 rolls of nickels and box and a half of cents to go.

10 rolls of CWR halves from bank and got nothing. I find more silver in the local Coinstar return. Oh well.

To be honest I do not have a scale and I am not sure what to get.

In today's box of nickels I found a 1935 buffalo nickel, 8 40's nickels (the rolls from my bank sorts out silver), 15 50's nickels, and 2 2009 D nickels

If it has a dull sound and a massive amount of rotation, you may have a "magicians coin". These are usually made from half dollars, and if you search this forum you can find threads on this. Or Google "scotch and soda" magic trick.
If you take this coin and strike or drop it really hard on a hard surface, it should separate. Sometimes it takes a few strikes to get it to split. If this is a scotch and soda coin it probably has a dime inside.
After some research I believe this may be the locking penny/dime trick similar to the scotch and soda trick with a half dollar....
