For the U.S. Mint to continue with this attempted money Grab from Hobbyists is irritating. Maybe the U.S. Mint can concentrate on something worthwhile....like coming up with a great design for a new CIRCULATING Half-Dollar and producing same and releasing to the Public.
The US mint is part of the US government and we all know that the government grabs money any way it can.
The pieces are certainly striking simply because they harken back to the days of beauty and style in our coinage..... The 2021 releases were special but I think the US mint should have left good enough alone in 2021. I feel like they have cheapened the whole concept by continuing on with them.... Sorry, I'll go back under the bridge now....
Thanks for the comments, folks. Tell me how you really feel. As for me? I'll be getting a few for the collection. Especially since the mint ain't doin' no commems this year.......
Everyone has valid points for how they feel. What I think shoud be obvious to those in power is look how popular these old designs are when they bring them back in some form or another. It is certainly not all buyers for profit buying these, but more is collectors. And who do these buyers for profit sell them to other than collectors. If changes were made in circulating coinage they would attempt to be everything to everybody. So maybe we need to be happy with what we have.
