    A happy outcome on both.

I was concerned the 1548 Saxony thaler might not straight grade, due to that little “divot” in front of the guy’s face. But I was gambling that that was just a strikethrough error or planchet flaw, and not a dent. Seems I was right, and the gamble paid off. The coin straight graded- XF40! Yay. :)

The 1927-A Bremerhaven commemorative was a piece I bought raw in January at the FUN show in Orlando. The dealer had written “very choice MS64” on the holder, so that’s what I was hoping for. Nope! It went MS65! Yay again. :)

Happy for you, LM, that you got these results. I especially like the Saxony-Albertine thaler.

Nice! Are you switching to NGC more now? Do you like their photo service better?

Yes, and yes, and the second yes is the primary reason for the first.

That is so funny. We are moving in opposite directions.

I have only submitted to NGC (and have been happy with them and their customer service, even with ugly prongs). But now I have things to submit and only PCGS grades so here I am sitting on my first PCGS submission that I dropped off at NYINC. It's May now. That was January.

Only 6-7 WEEKS in the encapsulation phase. I mean the grading was slower than advertised too...but this is crazy. I've called once and the woman sounded puzzled. Now I'm submitting a local authority koban, a very early bu, an Akita silver plus a handful of clay coins. Perhaps getting the right product to slab effectively is a thing. I would HOPE at this point an undgradeable would have that comment...

Maybe it's time for my second customer service call.

2 beautiful coins. The first is more in my wheelhouse but I like them both. I dropped off about 20 pieces to NGC at Central States and will post about them when they are completed.

Very nice looking and congrats on the grades. NGC received my submission last Wednesday afternoon but hasn’t opened the box yet.
