I just wanted to update all of you on the status of coins sent to me. First, the "missing" coin from @lordmarcovan found its way to me in yesterdays mail. It is a beautiful Roman coin, and probably even more cherished, one of his famous elongated cents, which I had none, but do have an album of them, so it will find a nice place to live. Second, the coins from the awesome contest that @Paddy54 had in my honor. The Buffalo nickel he honored me with, and then the other coins that the winners; @PamR and @Sting 60 donated to me. All of them will take a special place in an album next to my chair that hold "special" coins for me to enjoy on an almost daily basis. Thank you so much to everyone that participated and those that gifted me their wins. @Paddy54 posted this at the beginning of the contest: Let's make this fun and honor a long time member... thank you for your support. Paddy Contest is now officially open.... let see them..... post away and make Albert's day! Let me assure all of you, the heart felt friendship it has given me, more than makes my day.
You are a kind person along with @Paddy54, @lordmarcovan and of course others. This is your special thread and I have no where need the collections you all have but thanks to you, @lordmarcovan and @Collecting Nut, I have a few more. I don’t look at it as a collection. I look at all as a gift. Glad you liked the coins and a good little surprise.
Mountain Man.. your friendship is all we need. You've given yours to a lot of us, so it is the very least the members here could do. A special contest for a special member...
Update again. I just received an email from USPS that the package I had sent to @lordmarcovan, was delivered to MY box this morning! I won't be able to get into town to pick up my mail for another week or so, while the transition between snow travel and mud travel takes place, so I won't know the how or why of the matter. I am just guessing right now, but possibly the address wasn't readable so the package ended up in the "dead Letter" dept, but my inquiry sparked them to find it and send it to the return address. I won't know for a while, but will let all of you know when I find out the answers to this mystery.
Please post photos as I might be able to assist. And remember my friend, I was recently reminded that if photos are posted it didn’t happen. Lol Now who do you think told me that? I’m very glad you got the coins back.
Rob, those are great photos. Thanks for posting them as I will use them whenever I refer to your gift. Thanks again.
