hi. i found this black quarter in some change a while ago, but never thought of asking on a forum until today. Im not sure if the pictures are good enough, but i have never seen a dark grey / almost black quarter. Some info 1. The word "America" on the front is blurry. 2. on the word "Nebraska" on the back, the letter N E are both blurred as well 3. so are some of the letters on "Chimney Rock" 4. The outer/inner ring of the quarter on the back. What i mean is, if you place your fingernail and just go around the quarter, that little edge so to speak doesn't exist at the top . something like a missed stamping of coin maybe. im not sure, but it definitely isn't right. hope that helps if you need more pics, i can take some more
if you look closely at the second picture you can see that the edge , starting from the suns rays all the way up to the word nebraska as not there. but i will take more pics
