Am leaning more towards mechanical doubling with this coin but would like consensus. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. IMG_3204.JPG IMG_3206.JPG IMG_3207.JPG IMG_3210.JPG IMG_3213.JPG

It looks like die deterioration to me.

    FYI
The term "die doubling" does not suggest that it is a "doubled die".

Is it common to see the offset with die deterioration? I thought that with deterioration you typically see weak, slopping edges?

In pic 4, is that all die cracks above and to the sides of the date, within the wreath?

Under my loupe it looks like wear and tear.

Also have this Liberty Half with similar mint mark. Some in the lettering as well. IMG_3308.JPG IMG_3315.JPG IMG_3318.JPG IMG_3319.JPG IMG_3320.JPG IMG_3321.JPG

There are better people to talk here, but if you see flat, shelf-like doubling on devices, it is likely MD or machine doubling where the die was not tight and shifted during the strike. The mint mark kind of looked like a re-punched mint mark or RPM. Perhaps someone here could educate us both about this. BTW, welcome to CT.
