I am suspecting human assistance as the odds it would flip over and land for a second squeeze on a running press would seem less than if a press worker was bored and set it up. Yes, I know its not nice to suspect government workers would take personal advantage of their position. "Surely Not!!". Things may have improved a little since this strike date.

It used a file hidden in an apple pie given to it by its wife.

Same way they grade all coins, by evidence of rub or circulation.

Sadly to say, as in any profession I’ll say, food, banking, GOVERNMENT, medical, the mint, postal service, etc. I think you got my point lol.
Just a couple of months ago, volunteers were cleaning and picking up trash. Came upon a huge amount stashed under an under pass, every kind of medical supplies and yes meds, anesthesia meds etc. Inside job they assume, sadly.
So yes hard to believe that would leave the mint if one is doing their job. Anything in that type of condition. In banking I know what would kick out in our machines so some of the errors found, you might want to thank that person that said, “ oh well, throw in there anyway”! Lol! Just saying! Oops!
But hey, it’s nice Sal! :shame:

But then the coins would tell the next person what's in your purse , coins, beer, the combination to your piggy bank etc. etc. the only benefit would be that the cash could tattle tale which politician, policeman, robber tole or took them under the table !! :) But I would love to see it. :) Jim
