Hi! My 11 year old son has just taken up coin collecting, so he has been scouring all of his coins for anything he thinks may be of value. He came across a 1941 penny that has the "L" in Liberty stamped on the rim of the coin, so it just looks like "iberty". Is this anything of value?

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    Welcome to CT!
We'll need pictures, but my guess would be that it was struck with a worn die.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

Like Rick said, we'd need clear photos of the coin. Otherwise, we would just be guessing.

Sorry, thought I had included the picture. Try again this time!

Well, I do see the vertical part of the "L". It's just that wear from circulation has affected it and the rim. As for the horizontal part, I'd need a better close-up.
