but I found one of those 2019 ddo's. Haven't matched it up yet - and it's late. The date is pretty strong and it's got one of those odd shaped zeros. Pretty cool but I'm going to bed. I'll take up the ID in the AM. Lou
When you do just check for the die markers, the date and TY sure have that tootsie roll look to them. Not to mention extra thickness. Try wdo-011.
…and you are not going to see it very well from those 2 shots, but the key PUP is a strong or bold 9. This is very, very common. All of these varieties for this date are minor doubling and easy to find. IMO they have zero premium value…Spark
Thanks, I did do that earlier and came up with the same conclusion. I've already slabbed it with that designation. I just agree with everyone because it's not worth fighting over. The date seemed obvious to me right away. I usually just quickly scan these and toss them, this one just jumped out at me. Lou
I agree, they have little value and I usually scan and toss quickly. This one just jumped out at me. I agree with Pickin and Grinin that it's a wdo-11. Sorry I didn't post any close ups, the "Y" in liberty is a dead give away. Lou
Yes it is, I think an early state it's just on the edge of the dark area and it's a little lumpy. Good catch.
There were a couple of references. One in VV and I think a couple in Wexler that had die cracks. You might check the references again.
The die crack in DDO-001, 1-O-VI has a Die Gouge above N of CENT, mine does not. The die crack in the hair on DDO-002, 2-O-VI does have a die crack in the hair but it is different than mine. Mine does not have the die gouge SE of Liberty like WDDO-001. On WDDO-002 the left arm of the Y is fatter than the right, mine is the opposite. The same is true on 003, 004 and 005 - 006 the arms are equal, 007, 008 the left arm of the Y is fatter, 009 has die scratches on the chin, mine does not. On 010 the left arm again is fatter, again on 012. On 013 thru 018 they all have cracks or chips on the top left of the shield, mine does not. On mine the arms of the Y are equal - so no. After that they are all DDR's. In conclusion 011 seems to me to be the only accurate match. Thanks: Lou
