So bogus Coin in a bogus slab... details look soft for an AU63. JUST WAIT for the 100 point grading bogus slabs.
Yeah I have seen a lot of fake coins in fake slabs lately. I am beginning to be alot more observant before purchasing. This one was obvious, but I have actually seen some come on the market recently that are harder to tell. There was this trade dollar in a newer "ngc" slab.... what caught my eye was the text on the label. It just looked a LITTLE off to me. The coin actually didn't look bad at first glance, it even had luster. but when blowing up the photo and looking at the details carefully I then realized for sure the coin and slab was fake. Also ngc had a photo of the coin in the slab on thier website and that was the final nail in the coffin, you could tell it was a different piece. But what alot of these forgers are doing is finding valid cert #'s without photos so there is no way to compare them to the exact coin photo. It's a shame these low life's can't earn an honest living and mess up our hobby. I would be livid if I spent big money on a fake coin! Just be careful!!! If there is no photo of the exact coin compare it carefully to a photo on pcgs coinfacts!
