I have an acquaintance who lives an hour from Denver who has expressed some interest in ancient coins. He has some already, but is alone and not deeply involved yet. Is there an ancient-coin club in Denver that might welcome him?

Yes, Denver, Colorado. I was thinking more of a group of congenial collectors who meet something like once a month to show and discuss ancient coins.

Oh, sorry Warren ... yeah, I always seem to get that wrong, eh?

Well, I hope that your buddy finds a great coin hangout

I know nothing about Denver but the listings for both clubs in my area listed on the above site are at least two years out of date. Neither meeting location is correct and one date schedule is wrong. Don't drive a distance without checking.

I live just North of Denver in Boulder County. I don't know of any active groups or clubs focusing on ancients, unfortunately. I have on occasion met up with a few other collectors at coffee shops or other places but nothing regular or organized.

All that said, if any members wanted to start some kind of club I'd certainly attend meetings when possible.

I was thinking Key West might be a good meeting point.

Perhaps for you and TIF but what are you saying to Steve? Migrate?

Sure, why not? Actually, I think Steve would fit in well at Key West. It's a party town after all. And great trophy fishing.

I am new to this forum. The Denver Area World Coin Club (DAWN) meets at Calvary South Denver the first Friday of every month. There are several enthusiastic ancient collectors as well as world coins. Meeting time is 7:00. CSD (Calvary South Denver)
is located at 9052 W. Ken Caryl Ave. You may be familiar with William (Bill) Rosenblum who usually sets up at every meeting. Hope this helps.

  18. Welcome. I'm sure the rest of us ancient guys would love for you to share some of your coins; if you'd like to start a thread in the ancients section.

Biblecoinguy, thanks you for the information. This is helpful. When I see my acquaintance in person I will let him know.
