Hello new to this found this penny and notice that on the back the states and the o from of at not as bold. Is this commen? I've red some post something about grease was mention.
Hi.. yes it is common. It's called struck through grease. The area on the die becomes clogged a bit at times with grease or debris and hardens not allowing the image on the coin, in your case your Cent, to be fully sharp. Not just the letter o but the word STATES also on your Cent.
was it a 1995? found one just like it. Someone told me it was just a weak strike and not struck through grease
