I sometimes like a little gold toning on silver coins. While it is obviously a matter of preference for the buyer, do you think it's a detriment when selling. Guys like me a small minority?
No, not necessarily. There are a large number of toned coins which, while they may not be stunners, are extremely original, and will attract the seasoned collector's eye.
It may turn some buyers off, but blast white coins will as well. Usually a gold tint would be a positive not a detriment
All silver coins will tone as they come in contact with their environment. Some more than others depending on the quality or mix of the materials. I wonder about blast white coins: Were they kept from environmental exposure? Dipped? Are you skeptical when you see a blast white coin? This being said, to me toning is not a negative per se but some coins are more attractive than others when they tone. I have paid a premium for a coin I think has attractive toning.
