This is not a contest. I would just like an honest opinion of these two PCGS graded quarters. One (A) is a 1946-D and the other (B) is a 1945-S Quarter. Hoping that the pictures are good enough for your evaluation. Thanks much,

I'll go 64 & 66 (assuming the marks are on the holder & not coin #2s reverse)
Don't you trust the almighty PCGS ? (Blasphemy!!!!)

Thanks guys. Heavycam asked if I did not trust PCGS. Will, this is why I posted this item. Both quarters were graded MS65 by PCGS. It was my opinion as some of you noted that the 1946-D quarter looks to be a MS64. In any case, I have been thinking of returning the 64 to Heritage as not acceptable. What do you think ?

I think Heritage will be really ticked at you if you ask to return the coin.

I think you might be right Larry. After all it's not their fault how PCGS grades the coins.

The return issues for Heritage aside, I wouldn't put much weight into it. Grading from pictures is hard enough with the best of images and those images are a bit lacking for coming to a hard conclusion on the grade. Washington's are a hard series to grade as well. That quarter may not be the greatest for the grade and some may disagree even after seeing it in hand, but I wouldn't definitely say it was from this thread.

That said if you don't really like it sell it and get one you do.

Baseball, I may have overpayed for this coin ($21.00) because I was bidding on a 1964-D MS65. If the coin is not MS65, I hardly think I could get my original money back by a resale.
