OK friends, you asked : here is me "on the rocks" in Corsica last year, playing "guess who I am". My daughter took the picture. Although it's not ancient nor medieval, I have to post the following which gives the answer to the question And to stick to the rules in this thread here's an ancient I love (among my all time favorites) and that probably inspired Napoleon for his own portraits on coins Augustus, Denarius struck in Lyon c.12 BC AUGUSTUS DIVI F, Bare head of Augustus right IMP X, Bull butting right 3.77 gr Ref : RCV #1610, Cohen #137 Q
Father's day: Favorite coin of the month: Plinking 22 I've put together: Beretta ARX 160 .22lr pistol. Custom paint, mods, and a few attachments -Michael
Sweet to finally see a pic of you! And great Napoleon, I still want a silver of his. I have none. Floors me so many coin collectors are into guns.
Wow, you guys all look so awesome!! (it's definitely kinda funny, how us dudes really look, eh?) ... it's a bit like reading a book and picturing the characters and then seeing the movie version and thinkin' => "hey, wait a minute ... that's not what Q looks like at all!!" ... oh, and you're all way sweeter in actual photos than you are in my crazy mind!! (for one, you all have clothes on!!)
You're rigth Steve, that's not at all what I look like in real life : not pretending to be Napoleon every day, I usually look like an ordinary guy Q
The Black one don't come to close! [That post is gone - keep in mind that posing with guns is apparently OK here while some other "poses" are not ...]
Since I did not show any of my weapons before, let me add one now. It's a Browning 9mm manufactured in Belgium during the Nazi Occupation. AEOLIS, KYME AR Hemiobol OBVERSE: Eagle's head left, KY to left (M beneath the head, nearly off flan) REVERSE: Quadrapartite incuse square of mill-sail pattern Struck at Aeolis, 450BC .46g, 7mm SNG Cop 32
Going through this, I've realized that I haven't had a picture taken of me in a while... So here's one from a few years ago. Add on a few more pounds, and a little less hair... No guns, but I do have a very nice longbow. Haven't shot in years, and the only picture I could find of the bow is even older (and has been compressed many times by social media...) I realize back-quivers are anachronistic. But they're fun. Here's a coin: Genoese Caffa Filippo Visconti, r. 1421-1435 AR Asper, 16.21 mm x 0.9 grams Obv.: DV_M.D.:CAF; The arms of Genoa in a beaded oval of four arches, three dots to side and below of portal Rev.: Small Jujid tamga with 1 dot. Circular Arabic legend, السلطان العادل محمد خان (The Just Ruler, Muhammad Khan) Ref.: Similar to Retowski, Genoese-Tartar Coinage, no. 15 Note: Overstrike
Honestly? You look pretty much how I thought you did! No surprise with your pic, and your heritage enjoying Napoleon!
Hey @FitzNigel , nice choice in drinking vessels... I have a couple I picked up in Luxembourg and Germany... and yes, they WERE full... (ummm... SEVERAL times...)
... it "almost" looks like a real Smith & Wessen, eh? Larry is an excellent shot ... yup fellas, looks like we've gots ourselves a good ol' fashioned barrel measurin' contest!!
Here are pictures from just a couple of years ago: High school 1967 Vietnam 1970 I don't think I've aged any!
