I meant to post this coin despite its rather poor but acceptable condition. The fact is that Roman Empresses often hide mysteries in matter of historical significance or even rarity. Please try to guess the name of the Roman Empress below. The coin weighs 3.07 g.
gawd ... you dudes are awesome!! Amazing shots, Bing & Doug!! => you guys are quick-draws and sharp-shooters!!
I second that motion! Here is the best shot in history.... Obersleutnant Heinrich Weisser 1428 confirmed kills Eastern Front, 1941-45
He is cheating. Has a scope. Sgt. York in WWI did it with just iron sights on a M1903 Springfield... (Just blowing you smoke! )
This is really off topic, but I worked with Sgt York's grandson, Colonel Gerald York. Lots of stories over the years. The story of Alvin York is very interesting. Maybe not the movie story, but close according to Gerry.
Just another little story if I can be indulged. When the movie was being cast, according to Gerry, Alvin insisted on Gary Cooper being cast to play the starring role.
are we going parlimentary procedure on this one =) If we are I have a subsidary motion (if that is the right term).... A Coin with
Gary Cooper was perfect actor to play role of Sgt. York, but even though I loved the movie "Genghiz Khan" with Omar Sharif....Genghiz would have been happy with that actor/hollywood version of history!
For some reason, I had heard / knew that about Cooper being selected... WOW, must be very interesting knowing his grandson! Must have been some GREAT stories!
Hey guys. You seem to have forgotten tho OP coin. I'm still hesitating between Fortuna or even Aphrodite for the reverse. The mint could be Apollonia.
Humm strange we talk about a coin and somebody is always adding WII Germans... Vasili Zajtsev is the true hero, peace.
