@Loong Siew, most of your coins are far out of anything I understand or collect but I appreciate your writeups and this coin is particularly interesting . @TypeCoin971793, I just noticed your hilarious signature line. Thanks for the laugh!!
$1300 plus buyer's fee? Wow... I want one, but not *that* badly. I'll keep the draped bust U.S. dollar in it's "wish list" spot for now ;-) Still, a very cool coin with a good back story.
If you can show me why the history of the draped bust dollar is cooler than this coin, then I'd be a little more inclined to agree eith you.
Touché, mon frère. Your coin has more history... quite a bit more! I'm just working on a U.S. Type set so the D.B.D. gets a bump in that regard.
Well, so am I, so I completely understand the allure of a DBD. I just can't afford either right now...
Thanks @TIF .. there are a treasure load of specimens and literature on Classical Greek and Roman coins here. Also I don't have a lot from this part of the world and history.. so I load a few from the East or uncommonly seen variants instead...
This piece fits nicely to my Historical Greats theme.. Hopefully soon a Charlemagne denier to close the chapter on the theme.
