Hi guys! My last post is about my Theodoric upgrade, today I will show another coin that has been replace, a Baduila monogram nummus. Currently coin in my collection: Baduila, king of the Ostrogoths, in the name of Anastasius. 541-552 AD AE Nummus, mint of Ticinum? Obv.: DN ANASTASIVS PF AVG, bust of Anastasius right. Rev.: Monogram of Baduila within wreath. MEC #163 The coin has been replaced for the next: Not the best, but initial legend can be read (DN A...) Second part of legend near fully complete. Better in hand, splendid glossy black patina with very nice monogram Dificult to make a choice to me, may be I keep the last two.
I... I can't tell which one's the real Valient, and which one's the clone... (All kidding aside - awesome upgrade Valentinianvs!)
I happen to have this Baduila type as well, the thread here. I also have the forward-facing type, which can be seen here.
