Well, if nothing else, he's lost any potential business from anyone here.

Lemmyk, you should post his name here & the results of when you run his profile through www.toolhaus.org ,then we will all know who to take a 10,000 foot bargepole to.

Has anyone gotten any results recently from Toolhaus or any other third party feedback gatherer?

eBay is trying to put a stop to this through its updated user agreement which includes verbiage to the effect of "our feedback is proprietary and you agree that you are not allowed to harvest it"...

I suspect they are continuing to find other ways to shut it down as well.

I was able to get information about two days ago.

There have been times recently that they have been unable to provide the feedback due to eBay shutting them down. I have to imagine it's a constant battle for them.

I can guess that the people behind Toolhaus are getting very peeved off with eBay.

I couldn't tell you one way or another.

Toolhaus is a great tool to help wade through the hundreds of feedbacks, especially with powersellers like Aboncom/SGS (one in the same).

I just saw some SGS packaged (remember, they are not graded) coins in a coin shop the other day. Same story...a newbie got burned and unloaded them for pretty much face value, nothing more.

Midas,it goes to prove that unscrupulous vendors like Scumburger 'Grading' 'Service & Aboncom need to be given the boot from the numismatic community anyway.

    Funny

I read some of this post and had to send it to my brother when I saw the guy had claimed people were infringing on his rights. He even made some semi-threatening posts like "a word of caution" etc. My brother is a lawyer who specializes in torts. He thought it was pretty funny (especially the first amendment part). Hopefully this guy has stopped selling by now, but I sure hope he stays out of the legal accusation business as well. :pencil:

I really think that TPGS should be outlawed, and the ANC should be only people allowed to slab.

JUst wanted everyone's opinion. I'm new to the hobby, and occasionally buy coins on E-Bay. I usually try to stick to PCGS and NGC, but are there any others that you would deem trustworthy?

Welcome, and the list of acceptable slabbers (TPG'ers) is shorter than the ones that are (insert your own profanity here).

    Good:
    PCGS
    NGC
    ANACS
    PCI (just okay)

    perhaps one or two others.

There are a few where you can get good deals. Dont pay attention to the slabber, dont pay attention to the grade.

Look at the coin, know how to somewhat grade yourself ( at a minimum) make the decision of what the grade is on the coin yourself, and bid accordingly.

If the pcis aren't good enough, ask for more, if they don't supply good enough pics, risk as much as you feel you can handle.

personally, all TPG's shoudl be handled with care since the grading process depends on humans which are known to make mistakes. We all have our fave TPGers, and some hate TPGers that others like.

All you have to is find one you trust and know how to grade yoruself. Until then you will be safest using NGC and PCGS. Or just stick to raw :D

Biju, the answer is - give them the widest berth possible! Take a 10,000 foot barge-pole & push SGS to where they belong.

    hmmmmm, make me think

On my other Ebay account, I am a power seller. I don't sell coins, but I am a power seller non the less. I forwarded to Ebay last night the fake 14-d lincoln auction, we'll see what happens.
It's unfair, but yes, PS's do get special treatment. We'll see what happens when 2 of them butt heads. I'll keep you all posted.

    Aj:kewl:
