Well, the title says it all. This would need to be mid AU, in my opinion, to be worth grading. I have it at a 53 on a good day but I am no expert on these. What do you think?
Nice looking coin would sat at least A/U 55 maybe as hi as a 58, good luster on the obverse however the reverse in my opinion keeps this from going M/S no real luster there, keep it raw.
Good show. If it were mine, I'd keep it also. Why spend good money for plastic encapsulation? Is it going to enhance the value of the coin? Possibly, but I think not. You, my friend, are more than capable of keeping the coin safe and pure.
bit of rub on the shield so I agree au rather then ms.. beautiful example but I'd keep it raw myself..
It's not worth the money. I just had three pieces of Confederate currency certified. The charge was $37 apiece for economy service plus shipping and handling one way. I had submitted the pieces at the Winter FUN show in early January. I didn't get them back until April 11. The retail market value for them was in the $350 to $400 range. Will I get my money back for the certification? Maybe, but it cost $147 plus a three month wait.
