1890-O Morgan

    Anyone care to offer an opinion what is going on with this Morgan. The fields have a blue tint and the worn areas on her cheek , hair, and cap have a copper look.

    I once had a few coins that had the same issue. My dad advised me that it happens when silver coins are placed against other metals and get shuffled around. That is one idea of many I believe. I never tried it again though.

    I have been told ammonia has that effect on silver but don't know if that is true.

    Nice looking coin. Toning is a plus for me. A more difficult 0 mint to find that is attractive. This one is a nice circulated coin.
