I posted another one a few dates ago so now I’m getting to this one. It’s a 1942-P Type 2 PCGS MS-66 War Nickel donut contains silver. Only one more needed that’s just like this one to have them all.

These are so popular and still very affordable.

Nice. I collect high grade Jeffersons. They can be had in 67 for very little, except for a few dates with 5FS.

Some of those FS are really up there in price.

I also like, and collect, these War Years nickels, but simply because of their silver content.

I'm not familiar with Type 2 Wartime nickels. I scanned my Red Book and didn't see anything. I would like to know what Type 2 Wartime Nickels are. I have all of the Wartime Nickels 1942,1943, 1944, and 1945, all MS66, but compared to yours, they can't hold a candle. Thanks for sharing.

Type 2 only applies to 1942 Nickels. Type 1 is made of Nickel. Type 2 has the silver as the nickel was needed for the war effort in WWII. All of the other dates of 1943, 1944 and 1945 are all a type 2 because of the silver content. It’s not necessary to call them Type 2 as no Type 1’s exist.
