Calling Paddy54 - 1845 Seated Two Bits - RPD

Calling @Paddy54.... I need some edumacation please. I did a little coin swap with a fellow CT member because I happen to be a lover of all coins of the seated variety..... This one is noted by PCGS as "RPD FS-301".... I have been able to discern that "RPD" stands for a re-punched date. Where do I find this variety bible? The one that tells me what FS-301 represents?

You are looking for the Cherrypickers Guide. Great books but they are a bit pricey.

 

The "FS" is for the authors Fivaz and Stanton

 

For any PCGS coin that has the variety on the label. You can find it on coinfacts.
Look for the highlighted blue "Show related coins and variety's."

Quick read over the references, Cherrypickers guide calls it a large 5 over a small 5.
But NGC and PCGS call it an 1845/845.
Looking at the photos of yours on PCGS the underlying 845 is pretty evident.
