19 something quarter, I believe and a clip plancheat.possibly strike through error

  1. I came across this coin and would like to know what you all see going. On with with coin, I think I see a clipped planchet and maybe a strike through grease or something, I haven't come across a quarter this this before.
    Have anyone else come across a coin like this?? CM230409-201117001.jpg

    This is a classic example of a squashed Washington. Mutilation was by design...an angry person with a hammer. Guessing: 1988

    Not clipped, not struck through, not any kind of error coin. Damaged, post mint. Maybe in a vise, or hammer, nobody will ever know. Spend it if you can

    Yepper, all of that is damage that happened after it left the mint.

    I hope you came across that coin in change as is definitely damaged. It’s also clad so only worth a quarter.
