Hi I found this $5 bill. I am new to collecting so i don't have much experience yet. I tried to see other examples of this but had no luck in finding one. To my research I think this is an error? It has a bleed thro on the back of the bill it is showing the signature from the front of the bill. Yes it is exactly aligned with the signature in the front. It is located near the bottom next to the purple 5. I was wondering if something like this is valuable or worth something. I am new and have not had much experience with collecting and I haven't seen something like this before. I tried to research it but I have not seen a signature one, I did see a lot of seals and serials do this but not signatures. Also what is the correct term to use for this? Bleed thro? ink transfer? Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated, is this something someone collects or considers valuable or is this not really worth anything?

Yes, the whole note, both front and back. And when you attach the picture to your post, please do it as 'Full Image'. Not Thumbnail.

Thanks. And welcome to CT :)

Whatever it is, it’s very minor.

some minor bleed through and not worth any extra value over face, imho.
Welcome to CT and for future posts, please use this information.

For the best results, you should post "in focus," FULL IMAGE photos (after you upload your photo, two buttons appear: Thumbnail and Full Image, click Full Image and your photo appears full size on your post and are easily enlarged by clicking on it). Photograph coins on neutral backgrounds like black, grey, or white. Crop out superfluous background so just the coin shows (you can use https://www.remove.bg for free), and post photos with correct orientation so members don't have to turn their computer in some awkward fashion to view it properly. While it isn’t always necessary, it is nice to show both the obverse and reverse, even if your question is just about one side. Members can often give more valuable information having both sides to evaluate. Add close ups of areas you have questions about and make your questions as definitive as possible so we know what you are asking for. And try to have the best lighting possible to show the most favorable photo of the coin. Hope this helps in the future. Good luck.

Looks like the ink might have bled through the paper and is faintly visible on the reverse. It's not uncommon but if you like it put it in your collection.

Looks like it might be a stain but we need to see both sides of the bill and we need to see the entire bill.
