    No the cud would still show as copper. The whole planchet is plated and the effect of striking a coin is more of pushing the fields into the planchet than forcing the devices or the cud up. There is no reason the plating would disappear where the cud is, and the effect of the missing piece of die is to leave the surface of the planchet unaffected, so it would show as copper not zinc.
