Its in not the best quality/ but I have never seen any better. Ostfreisland/ Grafshaft AV Goldgulden 1588 Emden Mint obv. The coin is in MS condition. Probably 65 or better. The reason for the flat areas is there is quite a bit of detail in those areas, obv./rev. and the planchet wasn't thick enough fill in those areas. I'd be willing to bet that those soft areas are back to back. Very nice coin indeed. @ma-shops and their dealers did not let you down.
Thanks Tibor! I agree/ many of the dealers like Löchte/ Fenzl/ Ritter/ Dennis Kraft/ PGNUM (Marek)Germania Inferior Numismatics have very accurate grading (not like PGGS/ NGC) which overgrade/ also great service/ friendly people. They will also do layaway so you can pay for $$$$ coins over few months. And....their prices are very reasonable. John
Most of my better stuff has been coming off of @ma-shops I can't seem to find much in the US that I need and isn't over-priced. Typically, I can find better examples from them for more reasonable prices than what can be found in the states. Can't recommend them enough.
