There's much to like about these Papius denarii IMO (Juno Sospita, the griffin, extensive variety of 'guild'-related symbols). Yours is very nice!

You are right. I am not sure how I missed it, but:

I know Stevex6 has a nice 122 as shown in your first clip of the Crawford plate.

I gather somewhat random examples when I find ones that I can afford which isn't very often. The meaning of the symbols is often unknown.

I am always on the lookout for deity related ones.

My owl (Nyctimene) / crow (Cornix) above is thought to be the symbols of Minerva.

The following two also follow this theme with the first being symbols of Mercury

    Behind head, Harpa

The next being symbols of Neptune

Behind head, Dolphin wrapped around anchor.
    in field, Hippocamp

Very cool coins everyone - I have nothing coin related to share. But I did just visit the Harry Potter studio in London and thought it was interesting trip. I never saw the movie until yesterday, after the trip.

Have you read the books? I've read the series more than a dozen times. Rowling weaves an incredible tale and by the end no detail is left hanging. It really was a remarkable feat and I enjoy it anew with each reading :).

Martin, you have a fantastic collection and there are many I'd love to have, but perhaps none more than this :).

I have not, but I'm interested in reading them now. Figured I could get my feet wet by watching the movie - I know books are always better - but after a long day in English traffic I just wanted some beers and easy entertainment. Both were very satisfying.

But of course you can have beer too in a tall cup served by the jug

    Behind head, tall cup
    in field, jug

But be careful not to drink too much and lock yourself out

    Behind head, lock
    in field, key

I forgot my other deity example of Pan - god of shepherds

    Behind head, shepherd's crook.
    in field, mask of Pan

Don't make too much noise coming home drunk. An angry wife with chopper or scissors could be scary

    Behind head, chopper.
    in field, scissors

And just hope that things don't escalate

    Behind head, crossbow bolt.
in field, front view of crossbow

And on the morning after with the hangover. Sending a prayer to the gods.

    Behind head, altar
    in field, lighted altar

What a great collection and well done bringing a Harry Potter, traveling, and drinking narrative full circle!
