Slabbed MS 64 Morgan Question

Hi All, just picked this up yesterday. Is this an older Anacs holder? And does this grade look appropriate? I got a great buy, because of the Anacs holder I assume? But the coin looks really great in hand. Thanks for any feedback.

A nice 64 coin.

 

Grade looks appropriate. I wouldn't be surprised to see it in a pcgs 64+ slab actually. That said, it's a very common coin in a very common grade. What it has going for it though is the SUPER clean cheek and fields. Did you get it for around $40? They tend to sell for $50 ish in anacs 64 but I wouldn't be surprised if you could squeeze up to $70 out of her for the eye appeal with super clean fields

Looks real nice. Nice coins can be found in the blue label holders, I have a few myself, but these blue label holders are part of the reason ANACS gets less respect than PCGS/NGC. Plenty of overgraded coins in them. I think their MS grades for Morgans are pretty good, the circulated grades are often optimistic IMO.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a blue label graded correctly but you know what they say about broken clocks right?

They don't come much better than that in MS64, you got a good one, that's a pretty lady.

 

Agree. That could grade up, anywhere, anytime.
