A common empress and reverse for her. Not the best shape so I hope you didn't pay alot. But it's legit.

It's hard to tell much from the images you posted. Is the coin crystallized? I too believe it to be genuine. I have one silver of her that I paid $20 shipped a couple of years ago. Now the bronze I have of her I paid considerably more even with the hole.

I'm trying a new light, actually I stole my wife's she uses for her gemstones. My photography has a lot of room for improvement.

Certainly not a bad coin but I think a higher grade example can be had inexpensively.

Thanks Noob, I almost expected a schooling from you. Don't mean that as a negative. I agree also. It was a gamble & I do have a $20 max gamble rule. I win some & I lose some.
I think on a personal level I tend to listen to what you have to say more than I do most others.

I think you're off to a good start! Check out Doug Smith's pages on photography for easy/inexpensive tips. Photography could become a side hobby and it's always fun to take and post good images you can be proud of!

I have a great canon take with when we go to nascar, nhra races. I'm just handicapped when it comes to computers. PC is dead laptop gave to grandson so for now it's phone & tablet.

More coin images are ruined by too much contrast and too strong light. Try bouncing the light off of something and trying for an image less harsh. Given the trend of cheaper cameras to exaggerate contrast and saturation, we might be better off not using a light for coins with bright surfaces and just using what is bouncing around the room. Not seeing the coin in hand but guessing suggests to me that your price was OK but not a great deal. Mine was $21.50 and we both could probably improve our photos. rx1070bb1338.jpg

Thanks Doug. Yes your photo looks more accurate mines not as sharp as yours but the color is same. (The coin)
    I will try your advice.

Nice coin. I don't know if it helps any, but I 'fiddled' with the O.P. coin photos a little.

    Nice pick-up @Smojo !!

My contribution is a sellers photo since I seem to keep reshooting inferior replacements of her unslabbed:
