1990 with weak designer initials supposed to be bold

Anyone ever seen this before? It is like a transitional cent.

Looks like the scratches had mostly to do with it.

 

I don't really see scratches on the inside of the G

I'm probably missing what you are seeing, can you point out what it is? Well not point out, but tell.

 

Ok, this is a regular strike. See how the line goes towards the middle of the G? The first picture I posted just has a straight line that doesn't curve inward toward the Middle of the G. Here is a picture of the strike it is supposed to be.

 

OH OK - I've seen the answer before but can't remember why - some G's have the post and some G's are just straight. I'll look but I'm sure someone will answer before I can find it.

 

All 1990 have the post not the straight post.1989 through 1992 all have the same G.

From what I can or rather can't see. The coin inquired the OP looks like it's taken a hit. Reason I say this is coz the top of the G is almost gone. Could be the light reflecting in the pic, hard to tell Im looking at this on a tablet screen so not big as a monitor.
