1994 cent with piece of D missing

    One thing to always remember when looking at a coin is that the die is opposite of what you are looking at. If the spot on the coin in question is raised, the spot on the die would be..........

    I think there was something in the D that would not allow the metal to flow correctly into that area. (grease?) the area you are referencing is pretty straight so who knows.

    A broken die near the rim would be a raised cud.. Greaser most likely
