Have you owned the coin since the 60s and had it graded in the 90s? Just curious...looks like the old cellophane (sp?) toning.
Well...many of those mint sets came in cellophane. I've seen them with toned coins inside. I had always assumed that's where the toning came from. I could certainly be wrong but that's how I remember it. <shrugs> jom
I don't think any of those classic commems were packaged in cello. Card board holders and envelopes mostly. Anybody have access to Anthony Swiateks book on commemoratives? He details the packaging of all the commemorative issues and I don't remember seeing any packaged in cello.
