I am not sure if there is a specialised catalogue of Nazi German banknotes, but I do know that there is a catalogue of concentration camp banknotes, which has, sadly, been out of print for many years.

There so many concentrations camps money around, I wonder many are fake, esepecially those of Buchenwald, Daschau Osvieciem etc? Some are common since many used, like Westerobork in Netherland, and Teresienstadt in Czech. Because of values, they might not be old, but printed recent and made look real.

    i have one note...a 1933 50 reichsmarknote.

I also have a few nazi coins. It's just interesting to see the Nazi symbol on them and think about the history of the coin

Don't think it's a good idea to use that flag in the context of what this thread is about.

Christian, that's the old Weimar Republic flag, which was later used by West Germany,& is now the current German flag.

Generally, I don't get nazi coins/notes for political reasons.

Perfectly legitimate of course. Well, others in the US and the UK seem to focus on them, so it all sort of levels out. :) While I would not want to "support" a current dictatorial regime by buying its collector coins, I do collect coins from the Nazi Reich and the GDR (East Germany 1949-90) for example, just as I have German imperial and euro coins.

I had a friend who asked me to look for some concentration camp money. It was known as Lagergeld. I found only one piece, and it was on Ebay for a hefty sum. It had many responses to it being called an obvious fake and it was removed before the auction ended.

POW Camps and the Ghetto notes are much more abundant in the online stores, but the Ghetto notes are pricey and the POW notes I've seen seem to be mainly the POW notes from WWI, not WWII.

I only have one Nazi note in my collection presently. It is a Twenty Reichsmark note. I don't know anything about collecting Nazi notes but they are interesting conversation pieces. I picked up that note at a gunshow for $3. The seller had a whole album full of various German notes. I do have a few Nazi coins including several 5 Reichsmark coins. Those are my favorite German coins because they are 90% silver and have a lot of history behind them.

Gopher29,can you please post the photo of the front of that note as well?

Nazi banknotes exist in both Rentenmark & Reichsmark denominations. There was a series of notes that were issued as payment for confiscated Jewish property. These notes were not legal tender, nor were they transferable. In other words, they were paid with worthless pieces of paper. They are historically interesting though,&,yes, they are listed in Pick.
