Hi all, I noticed after going through several boxes of Halves that it comes to for every 90%er that I get I get 3 40%ers. So one in four keepers. Have others seen this pattern too?
I wish I got 1 90%er per 3 40%ers. I've never actually checked, but I'd imagine that I am more of a 1/10 ratio.
When I first started hunting Halves I wasn't that thrilled about getting 40%ers because LCS's gave me crap buy back price. Then I found a silver refinery that had no problem taking them off my hands paying 90% melt value. Now I get as much enjoyment pulling 40%ers as much as 90%ers. I have been hunting halves since February and Have pulled $12.50 face of 90%ers and $31.00 face of 40%ers. Not sure how great that is but I have tapered down the number of boxes per week from 4-6 to 1-2.
Since February I've done 4 boxes a week and I think I've pulled about $10 F/V in 90% and $60 F/V 40%ers. I did have that 17 box skunk streak so that entire month was a wash.
Twice as much face value as me on the 40%ers. That's cool. If I could ever get my hands on CWR that would be awesome. Have you had any luck on that front Furry?
Only recently started getting boxes of Halves from my local bank... 5.5 boxes so far + some miscellaneous coins laying around have yielded me 2 90% (64, 64D), 3 40% (68D, 68S Proof, 69D)...
