Is this a regular occurrence? I've never seen it and tried doing a search for it, that returns nothing.

Just picked it up at my lcs and I know he doesn't know much about errors. I got it for normal price even after pointing it out to him.

This printing error does not add any premium to the set of coins except to a bidiot.

Of course, if the coins inside looked like that then.......Cha-Cha-Ching!

It's unique. It could very well bring a premium. You just need the right buyer.

That's my wife's birth year. I'd pay a small premium over a normal 85 set just for that reason. Not much, but a little more than normal.

Honey, I got this proof set for your birthday. It will serve as a reminder that you shouldn't lie about your age.

What more do you need? Bidiots are the target for this stuff and on occasion they pay well.

The problem with bidiots is that when they learn that they've bid too much, they don't want to pay.

I think it's cool, just not going to fetch much of a premium.

I'll hang on to it probably. Pretty cool for sure. Lcs owner hadn't even noticed it.

My first thought upon reading the title of the thread was, "Boy, this fella has some stones." :)

Wasn't a chance I was going to miss it, though, and glad I clicked. This thing is the 1955 Double Die of misprints. It may be enough to make a market on its' own.

You should submit it to a TPG. :p

Not sure if sarcasm or not.... I'm completely ignorant to these.

No sarcasm involved. I was like, "No way this is a serious thread - nobody actually thinks the packaging has "errors" worth talking about. Has to be humor by the OP."

Then you posted some packaging with an error worth talking about, and I had to shut up. :)
