I know how to get them in, the thing is. How would i get them out? (whilst doing the least damage possible)
Have you tried pressing on the paper backing from the rear? NOTE: Sometimes this isn't as easy as one might think because the obverse of the coin is even with the top surface of the album. If this is the case, I always found it easy to use my circle template (for drafting) as an aid.......... First, select a circle from the template that is slightly larger than the diameter of the coin. Next, place the template on a level surface. Then, place the slot of the album holding the coin over the selected circle and press down to push the coin out. It may not come all the way out, but it should extend out far enough to make removal from the front easier to manage. If this doesn't work, tear the album apart and never use one again! Chris
I forgot to add that if you don't have a circle template, you can use a 2x2 cardboard flip for a larger coin. Chris
Agree, if the remain coins do not fall out, gently but firmly tap it onto a table. Finally, those ones or twos that may still remain stuck, hit the darn book as hard as you can until it folds or breaks in to pieces... letting the coins roll out. I works for me every time.
lol, thanks for all the advice and your funny comments, some of the best responses on a thread ive gotten.
Close your eyes really tight. Now imagine the cent outside of the album. Really feel it outside. The hole is empty. The cent is free. Are you feeling it? Can you see it? Keep your eyes shut!!! It didn't work? Humph. Well, then just burn the album and grab the cent right before the flames reach it. If you wait too long results may vary...
You might try a crowbar. Unfortunately, if you ever want the coin slabbed you'll probably get only a details grade.
Sounds like a new way to tone coins with all those lovely fumes coming off the burning inked pages. Just make sure you throw it in a forest fire so the toning is "natural"
